Original U.S. 27 inch x 41 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1966 Peter Brook Drama THE PERSECUTION AND ASSASSINATION OF JEAN-PAUL MARAT AS PERFORMED BY THE INMATES OF THE ASYLUM OF CHARENTON UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MARQUIS DE SADE, based on the 1963 play by Peter Weiss and starring Patrick Magee, Ian Richardson, Michael Williams, Clifford Rose, Glenda Jackson, Freddie Jones, Hugh Sullivan, John Hussey, William Morgan Sheppard and Jonathan Burn.
In Charenton Asylum, the Marquis de Sade directs a play about Jean Paul Marat’s death, using the patients as actors.
The poster is in very good folded condition with minor fold splitting at the centre of top and bottom folds and a short tear in the top edge.
