Original 1979 Re-Release British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1968 Luis Buñuel Drama THE MILKY WAY (LA VOIE LACTEE) starring Pierre Clementi, Michel Piccoli, Delphine Seyrig, Laurent Terzieff, Paul Frankeur, Edith Scob, Bernard Verley, Georges Marchal, Jean Piat, Jean-Claude Carrière and Julien Guiomar.
Bunuel brings the full force of his wit and irony to bear on his attack against Catholicism which focuses on two French beggars, present-day pilgrims en route to Spain’s holy city of Santiago de Compostela. Plenty of time lapses, narative digressions, surreal events and complex references to Catholic dogma make this beautifully shot and sometimes very amusing film occasionally inaccessible. But its sly mischief-making, anti-authority stand and charsimatic cast are delightful.
