Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1989 Luis Puenzo Drama OLD GRINGO, based on the novel “Gringo Viejo” by Carlos Fuentes and starring Jane Fonda, Gregory Peck, Jimmy Smits, Patricio Contreras, Jenny Gago, Gabriel Roel, Anna Pitoniak and Pedro Armendariz Jr..
Fonda is the schoolmarm who travels to Mexico to become a governess. There she meets Peck’s embittered Ambrose Bierce and Smits, a general in Villa’s army, who uses her to trick his way into the hacienda she has come to teach at.
Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D’Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.
The poster is in very good folded condition with minor creasing.
