ONCE A CROOK
£99.50
Original British 10 inch x 8 inch Portrait of GORDON HARKER in the 1941 Herbert Mason Crime Drama ONCE A CROOK, based on the play by Ken Attiwill & Evadne Price.
”Gordon Harker has played a “Cockney” on stage and screen for 14 years, has made a study of the dialect, grades it into categories (the “suburban”; the “Broad”, the Adenoidal” etc.). In “Once A Crook” he is Charlie Hopkins, an ex-crook, now reformed and running a dockland pub. He is menaced by a former associate who seeks revenge by involving his son in crime.”
The portrait is in good condition with a synopsis tacked to the reverse. A periodicals stamp on the reverse bleeds through slightly on Harker’s forehead.
