Text taped to reverse: SHEILA SIM, whose steady rise to success in such films as “Canterbury Tale”, “The Guinea Pig” and “Dear Mr. Prohack” has establsihed her as an accomplished actress who epitomizes youthful English charm, has an important romantic role in “PANDORA AND THE FLYING DUCTHMAN”.
She plays Janet, archaeologist narrator’s niece, who suffers unhappiness through her love for Pandora’s fiance, a famous racing motorist, portrayed by Nigel Patrick.
Portrait by Ted Reed. Started with London Film Productions, Denham in 1937 as a printer. Joined Gainsborough Pictures Ltd., Shepherd’s Bush in 1940 as a stills cameraman. Then back to London Film Productions at Shepperton in 1946. He went on to become stills photographer on several British films including: The Rake’s Progress (1945) ; The Wicked Lady (1945); The Fallen Idol (1948); The Winslow Boy (1948); Tunes of Glory (1960); The Innocents (1961); King and Country (1964); Accident (1967). Reed’s stamp is on the reverse of the portrait.
The portrait is in good to very good condition with a small piece of surface paper loss at the bottom left and a synopsis and credit list taped to the reverse.
