Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1959 Viktor Tourjansky Adventure PRISONERS OF THE VOLGA (I BATTELLIERI DEL VOLGA) starring John Derek, Elsa Martinelli, Dawn Addams, Gert Fröbe, Wolfgang Preiss, Rik Battaglia, Charles Vanel and Ingmar Zeisberg.

Derek plays an officer in the time of the Tsar who is sentenced to Siberia.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D’Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.

The poster is in good to very good folded condition with corner and edge pinholes and minor foxing spots.
