Original U.S. 14 inch x 36 inch Insert Poster for the 1966 Mauro Bolognini & Mario Monicelli Comedy THE QUEENS (LE FATE) starring Monica Vitti, Raquel Welch, Capucine, Anthony Steel and Claudia Cardinale.

Four unrelated short comedies by four different directors. “Queen Sabina” (Vitti) chronicles the sexual misadventures of a teenage girl on the road home. “Queen Armenia” (Cardinale) centres on a self-serving opportunistic gypsy babysitter who uses her employer’s kids for her own gain. “Queen Elena”(Welch) centres on a husband who learns a lesson about the perils of infidelity after he succumbs to the wiles of the seductive wife next door. “Queen Marta” (Capucine) centres on a wealthy woman who, when drunk, uses her butler as an outlet for her lust.

Poster art by Ron Lesser. Born in New York City, Ron studied at the renowned Pratt Institute. In the 1970’s and 1980’s he produced several hundred western paperback covers and movie posters. Lesser made the posters for five Clint Eastwood western films, including the iconic poster for “High Plains Drifter” and “Joe Kidd”. Also the poster for Sam Peckinpah’s “Pat Garrett and Billy The Kidd”.
