Original 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Portrait of VIOLET KEMBLE COOPER as Lady Capulet in the 1936 George Cukor Romance ROMEO AND JULIET, based on the play by William Shakespeare.

Violet Kemble Cooper’s family was one of the oldest on the English stage. She is a direct descendant of Sarah Siddons (1755 – 1831). Siddons was most famous for her portrayal of the Shakespearean character Lady Macbeth, a character she made her own.

Her costume was designed by Adrian.

The portrait is in very good condition.
