Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1979 Andrzej Wajda Drama ROUGH TREATMENT starring Zbigniew Zapasiewicz, Ewa Dalkowska and Andrzej Seweryn.
Rough Treatment takes place in the 1960s. Jerzy (Zapasiewicz), a well-known journalist and foreign correspondent who reports on wars, revolutions and guerrilla movements in the third world, is a man whose world is falling apart.
The main character is based on Ryszard Kapuscinski, the prominent Polish journalist and author of the “reportage” school.
Poster art by Andrzej Klimowski. Klimowski was born of Polish parents in London in 1949. From 1968 to 1972 he studied sculpture and painting at St Martins School of Art and from 1973 to 1980 he lived and worked in Warsaw, the first two years of which he studied poster design under Professor Henryk Tomaszewski. He is Professor Emeritus for the School of Communication at the Royal College of Art in London.
