Text attached to reverse: ”THE smallest SHOW ON EARTH”, a Ralph-Dearden production for Launder and Gilliat, stars Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers, Margaret Rutherford, Peter Sellers and Bernard Miles. Taking a light-hearted view of the film industry, the British Lion release tells how a young married couple, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, inherit the Bijou Kinema, affectionately known among the inhabitants of a North Country town as the Fleapit.

RUNNING THE BIJOU. Matt (Bill Travers) listens as Mrs. Fazackalee (Margaret Rutherford) explains the somewhat unusual methods both she and Matt’s Great-Uncle Simon employed for the running of the Bijou Kinema, usually referred to as the Fleapit, in “THE smallest SHOW ON EARTH.”
