Text attached to reverse: ”THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH”, a Ralph-Dearden production for Launder and Gilliat, stars Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers, Margaret Rutherford, Peter Sellers and Bernard Miles. Taking a light-hearted view of the film industry, the British Lion release tells how a young married couple, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, inherit the Bijou Kinema, affectionately known among the inhabitants of a North Country town as the Fleapit.
ARGUMENT. Matt and Jean (Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna) and their solicitor friend, Robin (Leslie Phillips) listen to the arguments of Quill, the projectionist (Peter Sellers), Old Tom, the Commissionaire (Bernard Miles) and Mrs. Fazackalee (Margaret Rutherford) when they are informed that Matt and Jean intend to reopen the Bijou Kinema in “THE smallest SHOW ON EARTH.”
