Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1970 Andrew Stone Musical SONG OF NORWAY, based on the musical play by Milton Lazarus and starring Toralv Maustad, Florence Henderson, Harry Secombe, Edward G. Robinson and Robert Morley.

Based on the life of Norway’s greatest composer Edvard Grieg, and filmed in Norway where he lived. The soundtrack is all Edvard Grieg’s music with added lyrics.

Poster art by Howard Terpning. Howard Terpning was born November 5, 1927, in Oak Park, Illinois. He is an American painter and illustrator best known for his paintings of Native Americans. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In 1962, he began working as a freelance artist creating magazine covers, story illustrations and advertising art for publications such as Reader’s Digest, Time and Newsweek.

In addition Terpning completed over 80 movie posters starting with The Guns of Navarone in 1961. Other examples include Cleopatra, Doctor Zhivago, The Sound of Music, The Sand Pebbles, and the 1967 re-release of Gone with the Wind.

The poster is in very good folded condition with a pinhole in each corner.
