Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of NIGEL PATRICK in the 1952 David Lean Drama THE SOUND BARRIER.

Loosely based on the real-life story of aircraft designer Geoffrey de Havilland and the loss of his son (Geoffrey de Havilland, Jr.), the de Havilland company’s test pilot who died attempting to fly faster than sound in the DH108. The Prometheus jet aircraft that appears in the film was one of the prototypes of the Supermarine Swift (VV119), itself a particularly troublesome aircraft design.

The still is in very good condition with a snipe tacked to the reverse and a nick at the left edge.
