£85.00
Original 1994 Blue Dolphin Re-Release British 20 inch x 30 inch Double Crown Poster for the 1967 Peter Whitehead Documentary TONITE LET’S ALL MAKE LOVE IN LONDON featuring Alan Aldridge, Eric Burdon, Michael Caine, Julie Christie, Allen Ginsberg, David Hockney, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Lane, Lee Marvin, Edna O’Brien and Vanessa Redgrave and music from Pink Floyd.
One of Britain’s most provocative and idiosyncratic filmmakers, Peter Whitehead (1937 – 2019) created a body of work which shocked, entertained and infuriated audiences in equal measure.
A self-described ‘pop concerto for film’, Whitehead’s celebrated Tonite Let’s All Make Love in London (1967) probes the myth and the reality of ‘Swinging London’, tapping into both the confidence and the confusion of an iconic moment in time. The documentary presents a remarkable insight into Sixties counterculture through an intimate, impressionistic collage of rare concert and studio performances from bands including Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones, and interviews and appearances from key cultural figures including John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Mick Jagger, Vanessa Redgrave, Lee Marvin, Julie Christie, Allen Ginsberg, Edna O’Brien, David Hockney and Michael Caine.
The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition.
