William Munny is a retired, once-ruthless killer turned gentle widower and hog farmer. To help support his two motherless children, he accepts one last bounty-hunter mission to find the men who brutalized a prostitute. Joined by his former partner and a cocky greenhorn, he takes on a corrupt sheriff.
Poster design by Bill Gold (1921 – 2018). Born in Brooklyn, New York, Bill Gold was an American graphic designer best known for thousands of film poster designs. Gold’s poster for the “Unforgiven”, often called his most compelling Eastwood portrait, was a computerised composite. It showed the back of the antihero, William Munny, in shadows, clad in a long coat, his head turned left for a partial profile of a man waiting to kill or be killed. Behind him, he grasps an astonishingly long-barrelled revolver. There are no words.
