Original 11 inch x 14 inch Portrait of HELEN HAYES in the Gilbert Miller stage production VICTORIA REGINA by Laurence Houseman by New York Photographer Florence Vandamm with her stamp printed on the reverse.

London-born Florence Vandamm (1883-1966) trained as a fine artist at the Royal Academy, she first employed photography as an adjunct to portrait painting but her talent with the camera outstripped her abilities with the brush and in 1908 she opened a photographic studio in London’s West End that enjoyed steady patronage. In 1923 she moved to America where she became the foremost Broadway photographer up to 1950 when she retired.”

The portrait, on double weight paper, is in fine condition.
