Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1971 Dusan Makavejev Fantasy Drama W.R. MYSTERIES OF THE ORGANISM (W.R. – MISTERIJE ORGANIZMA) starring Milena Dravic, Jagoda Kaloper, Ivica Vidovic, Tuli Kupferberg and Zoran Radmilovic.

Makavejev’s film – however controversial it was in the early 70s – is not a sex film. But it certainly is a film about sex, since WR stands for Wilhelm Reich, a close associate of Freud and a Marxist who believed, among other things, that sexual freedom was a true expression of communism.

Poster art by Michael Mayhew. Mayhew joined the National Theatre in 1976 as a freelance graphic designer.
