Original circa 1914 12 1/8 inch x 9 1/2 inch Photogravure Engraving titled THE WATER WHEEL
Signed and dated in the plate.
From the painting by Henry Woods (1846 – 1921). An English painter and illustrator, and one of the leading Neo-Venetian school artists. He studied at Warrington School of Art and later in London at the South Kensington Schools and initially worked as an illustrator for ‘The Graphic’ and others before turning to painting. He began to exhibit at the Royal Academy from 1869 and in 1874 changed the direction of his painting, from rustic genre to Venetian flavoured subject-matter.
