Original British 40 inch x 81 inch 3-Sheet Poster for the 1961 Bryan Forbes Drama WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND, based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and starring Hayley Mills, Bernard Lee, Alan Bates, Norman Bird, Elsie Wagstaff, Diane Holgate, Alan Barnes, Hamilton Dyce, Diane Clare, Patricia Heneghan and Roy Holder.

If you found murderer Bates hiding in your barn would you think he was Jesus Christ? Well the Lancashire children, led by Mills, who find him in this movie believe so and the result is a poignant, often charming evocation of the innocence of childhood.

Poster art by Renato Fratini (1932 – 1973). An Italian commercial artist who specialised in cinema posters. In Italy he worked in Augusto Favalli’s studio, a major producer of Italian posters. He then moved to London at the behest of Eric Pulford, who ran the Downton agency, which had accounts with Rank and several other film companies. There Fratini enjoyed a successful career throughout the 1960s.
