WHITE WILDERNESS

£260.00

Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1958 James Algar Oscar winning Walt Disney Documentary WHITE WILDERNESS narrated by Winston Hibler.

Disney goes to the Arctic in search of playful polar bears, elegant ermine, soppy seals and leaping lemmings. One of the studio’s most enjoyable and impressively filmed true-life adventures, shot by film-makers in 16mm then blown up to 35mm for cinema release. Winner of the 1958 Oscar for best documentary feature.

The poster artwork attributed to A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.
