Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1960 George Sherman Comedy WIZARD OF BAGHDAD, based on the story by Samuel Newman and starring Dick Shawn, Diane Baker, Barry Coe, Sam Katzman, George Sherman, Jesse L. Lasky Jr., Pat Silver, John Van Dreelen and Robert F. Simon.
A genie turned mortal after his many failures is sent to Baghdad. As his last chance to prove himself he must help a prince and princess fulfill a prophecy.
The poster artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.
