Original British 27 inch x 40 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1954 Anthony Asquith Romance YOUNG LOVERS, based on a story by George Tabori and starring Odile Versois, David Knight, Joseph Tomelty, Theodore Bikel, Paul Carpenter, Peter Illing, David Kossoff, Jill Adams, Robin Bailey, Percy Herbert, Sam Kydd, Victor Maddern, Betty Marsden, Aubrrey Mather, Joan Sims and Russell Waters.
A young employee of the British State Department falls in love with the daughter of a top Russian diplomat, much to the panic of their respective countries’ officials, who suspect espionage.
The Young Lovers was noted in its time for its relatively frank depiction of a sexual relationship between a non-married couple, and was praised for its even-handedness in presenting Anna’s father (Kossoff) in a sympathetic manner, as a man torn between his political duty and the desire for his daughter’s happiness.
