Text attached to reverse: Ooom-pah-pah! And who’s the man behind the brass? Yes, it’s moustachioed comedian JIMMY EDWARDS. He was appearing as a guest star in Pinewood’s “AN ALLIGATOR NAMED DAISY” when someone in the brass band went off for a cup of tea. Then Jimmy stepped in – and shattered the peace!

”AN ALLIGATOR NAMED DAISY” is a bubbling comedy-with-songs about an amorous alligator who brings chaos to the life and loves of a young man-about-town. It stars DONALD SINDEN, DIANA DORS and JEAN CARSON. JAMES ROBERTSON JUSTICE, MARGARET RUTHERFORD, ROLAND CULVER and STANLEY HOLLOWAY head the supporting cast. A Raymond Stross production, it was directed by J. Lee Thompson, in VistaVision and in colour by Technicolor. The film was made at Pinewood Studios by the J. Arthur Rank Organisation.

Still by Norman Gryspeerdt.

The portrait is in very good condition.
