£200.00
28 Original 9 1/4 inch x 7 inch Black and White Stills for the 1955 Edoardo Anton & Dennis O’Keefe Drama ANGELA, based on the novel by Steve Carruthers and starring Dennis O’Keefe, Mara Lane, Arnoldo Foa, Rossano Brazzi, Galeazzo Benti, Nino Krisman and Enzo Fiermonte. Including one with producer Steven Pallos
Dennis O’Keefe doubles as star and director in Angela. He plays a GI who falls in love with Mara Lane in postwar Rome. Lane kills her boss, forcing her to flee the law. O’Keefe goes along for the ride so that he won’t be knocked off by Lane’s husband. Just when it looks as though O’Keefe is willing to go to any lengths to protect the woman he loves, he discovers that she frankly isn’t worth it.
Photos by Osvaldo Civirani
Civirani was a photographer at the Cinecitta studios during the golden years, working alongside Luchino Visconti at the time he was shooting “Osessione”. Later, he was an assistant to Alessandro Blasetti for “Fabiola” (1949), Federico Fellini for “Luci del varieta” (1950) and “Lo sceicco bianco” (1952) and Roberto Rossellini for “Francesco, giullare di Dio”. He made his debut as a film director in 1964 with the peplums “Kindar l’invulnerabile” and “Ercole contro i figli del sole”, both with actor Mark Forest. In 1965, he directed “Tentazioni proibite”, which featured Brigitte Bardot. He’s probably best remembered by Spaghetti Western fans for his 1967 film “Son of Django” with Guy Madison and Gabriele Tinti. Civirani died on February 20, 2008 in Rome.
The stills are in very good condition with slight surface marks with a brief synopsis and credits tacked to the reverse.
