BOYD’S SHOP

Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1960 Henry Cass Comedy BOYD’S SHOP, based on the play by St. John Ervine and starring The Abbey Theatre Players, Dublin: Eileen Crowe, Geoffrey Golden, Aideen O’Kelly and Vincent Dowling.

The film deals with the difficulties of a man trying to establish a modern grocery shop in the sleepy Irish village of Donagreah. He finds himself up against the long-established Boyd’s shop and the indifference to innovation of the local people. In the end he joins forces with Boyd and becomes engaged to Boyd’s daughter.
