Original Italian 14 inch x 27 1/2 inch Poster for the 1966 Melville Shavelson Drama CAST A GIANT SHADOW, based on the book by Ted Berkman and starring Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Senta Berger, Angie Dickinson, Stathis Giallelis, Luther Adler, Topol, Gordon Jackson, Michael Hordern, Allan Cuthbertson and Jeremy Kemp.

Jewish hero Douglas fights as an American colonel in World War II then becomes a Palestine freedom fighter in 1947.

Poster art by Alessandro Biffignandi (1935 – 2017). An Italian illustrator, mostly known for his covers for digest-sized, adult comics. In 1954, he was accepted as a student in the studio of Averardo Ciriello, a movie theatre billboard designer. He worked for a while with the brothers Enzo and Giuliano Nistri who were producing movie posters and then he was hired by the studio of Augusto Favalli, at the time Italy’s biggest producer of movie posters.

The poster is in very good folded condition with a small piece out of the lower right corner and a short tear in the lower left corner.
