Original 1795 14 3/8 inch x 18 1/4 inch Etching and Engraving titled CHRIST HEALING THE WOMAN ON THE SABBATH DAY
Christ standing, pointing with one hand at a young woman who kneels in front of Him to left, raising her eyes and hands to heaven as she is cured, looking to right towards two pharisees, who stand on the right, criticising Him for healing on the Sabbath.
Print by William Bromley (1769 – 1842). Painter, line engraver, etcher, occasional mezzotinter, and publisher. He exhibited his engravings at the Royal Academy 1786-1842.
After the painting by John Opie (1761 – 1807). Portrait and history painter.
