Original 1798 13 3/8 inch x 18 1/4 inch Etching and Engraving titled CHRIST & ZEBEDEE’S CHILDREN
Christ standing at left with disciples behind him, arms open and looking down to Zebedee’s two sons standing at either side of their mother, who sits on the ground, looking with longing towards Jesus.
Print by Thomas Holloway (1749 – 1827). An English portrait painter and engraver. Holloway was apprenticed to a seal engraver named Stent at a young age. He went on to study engraving at the Royal Academy beginning in 1773, during which time he resided at 11 Beaches Row, near Charles Square, Hoxton, and exhibited pastel portraits at the Society of Artists in 1777. He later lived in Orme House in Hampton, Edgefield, Norfolk, and Coltishall, Norfolk. He became a court engraver in 1792.

The etching is in very good condition with general age-related toning, foxing and minor defects from handling. The right border has been trimmed slightly.
