DAWN PATROL

Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of ERROL FLYNN and guests on the set of the 1938 Edmund Goulding World War 1 Aviation Thriller DAWN PATROL, based on an original story by John Monks Saunders.

Goulding’s remake of Howard Hawks’s 1930 movie ingeniously includes some of the great dogfight footage that distinguished the first version and otherwise follows Hawks’s script closely. On the ground, though, Flynn, Niven, Rathbone and Crisp are far superior to their 1930 counterparts. Max Steiner’s score helps to stir the action.
