George Bancroft (1882 – 1956) was an American film actor, whose career spanned seventeen years from 1925 to 1942. He was cast in many notable films alongside major film stars throughout his Hollywood years including “Underworld” (1927), “The Docks of New York” (1928), “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” (1936) “Angels With Dirty Faces” (1938), “Stagecoach” (1939) and “Northwest Mounted Police” (1940).
