Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of FRANCOIS PERIER in the 1956 René Clément Drama GERVAISE, based on the novel by Émile Zola.

Plush fifth French film version of Emil Zola’s “L’Assommoir” about an 1850s Paris washerwoman (Maria Schell) abandoned with 2 children, who marries a roof repairer (Périer) who turns them both into alcoholics.

The still is in very good condition with a credit list tacked to the reverse.
