Original 9 3/4 inch x 7 3/4 inch Still of ESMOND KNIGHT, ELIOT MAKEHAM & JOHN BOXER in the 1944 Basil Dearden Ealing Studios Fantasy THE HALFWAY HOUSE, suggested by the play “The Peaceful Inn” by Denis Ogden.
Ealing’s first foray into the occult, with a curious story about a bunch of travellers staying at an inn that was bombed of existaence a year earlier. Through contact with the strange landlord and his daughter, each makes some personal readjustment and goes away a changed person.
The still is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
