Original Russian 41 inch x 25 1/2 inch Poster for the 1963 Wojciech Has Polish Drama HOW TO BE LOVED (JAK BYC KOCHANA), based on the novel by Kazimierz Brandys and starring Barbara Krafftówna, Zbigniew Cybulski and Artur Mlodnicki.
The story of How to be Loved is divided into two sections – the Nazi occupation and the present – joined together by the fatalistic relationship of the heroine to one man.
Poster art by Alexander Iosifovich Shamash (1915–1987). Soviet graphic artist, poster artist and journalist. Member of the Union of Artists (MOSH) and the Union of Journalists of the USSR. His posters are stored in the collections of the Russian State Library.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a few corner pinholes.
