Original 9 3/8 inch x 7 3/8 inch Still of JEFFREY DELL and film crew shooting a barge scene opposite The Fishery Inn alongside the Grand Union Canal in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire in his 1948 Comedy IT’S HARD TO BE GOOD starring Jimmy Hanley, Raymond Huntley, Anne Crawford, Edward Rigby, Elwyn Brook-Jones, Geoffrey Keen, Lana Morris, David Horne, Muriel Aked, Cyril Smith and Alison Leggatt.

A conscientious captain emerges from the war with ambitions to spread peace and goodwill, but finds that his message is misunderstood.

The photo is by Dennis Reed with his stamp on the reverse. Reed entered the film industry as still camera assistant to Frank Buckingham, in 1932, at the Nettlefold Studios, Walton-on-Thames. He worked at the same studios as still cameraman from 1935 until 1938, moving on to Denham Studios.

The still is in very good condition with slight curling due to age and slight creasing at the upper right corner.
