LATIN QUARTER

Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement for the 1945 Vernon Sewell Thriller LATIN QUARTER, based on the play Pierre Mille and starring Derrick De Marney, Frederick Valk, Beresford Egan, Joan Greenwood, Joan Seton, Lily Kann, Martin Miller, Valentine Dyall, Gerhard Kempinski, Espinosa and Margaret Clarke .

In 1893 Paris, Charles Garrie (De Marney), a young sculptor, has rented a studio in the Latin Quarter of the city, formerly belonging to another sculptor, Minetti (Egan). Garrie was in love with Minetti’s wife (Greenwood) who had disappeared. Through a medium, the spirit of the wife reveals that she had been murdered by Minetti and hidden in one of his statues.

On the reverse is the 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1945 Curtis Bernhardt Film Noir CONFLICT, based on the story “The Pentacle” by Robert Siodmak & Alfred Neumann and starring Humphrey Bogart, Alexis Smith, Sydney Greenstreet, Rose Hobart, Charles Drake, Grant Mitchell and Patrick O’Moore.

An engineer trapped in an unhappy marriage murders his wife in the hope of marrying her younger sister.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with one vertical centre fold and 2 staple holes along it.
