Original French 94 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1932 Walter Summers Naval Submarine Adventure MEN LIKE THESE (LE SOUS-MARIN BLESSE) starring John Batten, Sydney Seaward, James Enstone, Syd Crossley, John Hunt, Charles Peachey, Athol Fleming, Lesley Waring, Valentine White, James Watts, Chang Fat and Wang Wong.

Based on the true story of the HMS Poseidon, a submarine which collided with the Chinese Merchant ship Yula off Wai Hei Wai on the 9th of June 1931 at approximately 12:45pm and sank within four minutes. At 3:15pm, aided by the ‘Davis Submarine Escape Apparatus’ and Petty Officer Willis’s cool courage, he and four more surfaced after being two and a half hours in the submerged submarine.

The film is introduced by Paul Chack, ex-naval commander, Vice-President of the Society of Men of Letters and prolific author on maritime history.
