ONE WAY TICKET

Original Polish 22 3/4 inch x 32 1/2 inch Poster for the 1965 Dusan Klein & Miroslav Sobota Czechoslovakian Romantic Drama ONE WAY TICKET (MISTENKA BEZ NAVRATU) starring Kirina Sejbalova, Karla Chadimova, Jana Zatloukalova, Marie Vasova and Miroslav Machacek.

The narrative turns on the discovery of a dead young woman on a train to Stuttgart. Her seat reservation bears the name of Marie Vlácilová. She was travelling to Germany to take the witness stand in the trial of a war criminal… The story goes back in time to present Marie’s previous life: she had been severely scarred by her internment in a concentration camp and by the effective loss of her daughter, sent to Germany for re-education.

Poster art by Andrzej Krajewski & Maria Inhatowicz. Andre de Krayewski is best known in Poland for his movie posters, a career he began in 1965. He designed sometimes up to a dozen movie posters every year up until 1980.

The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition with a couple of short edge tears.
