Born in 1912 Voinquel worked on over 150 films from 1930. Famous for his cinema portraits, he produced photographic work which has continued to influence contemporary photographers, from Robert Mapplethorpe to Herb Ritts.
Erich von Stroheim plays Eric who is paralyzed after a dangerous circus acrobatic act on a motorcycle which the glamorous circus manager Christina (Maria Montez) seduces him in to trying. When Christina seduces Fabius (Pierre Brasseur) his wife Martha (Arletty) performs the act and dies.
The still is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
