Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1955 Peter Glenville Drama THE PRISONER, based on the play by Bridget Boland and starring Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Wilfrid Lawson, Kenneth Griffith, Jeanette Sterke, Ronald Lewis, Raymond Huntley, Mark Dignam and Gerard Heinz.

Hawkins relentlessly interrogates jailed cardinal Guinness to force him to confess to treason in this taut drama, based on the 1949 case of Cardinal Mindszenty in Hungary.
