The building, which is situated in the centre of the city between King’s and Gonville and Caius Colleges, was designed by architect James Gibbs.
After Peter Spendelowe Lamborn (1722 – 1774). An English engraver, architectural draughtsman and miniature painter. He engraved two sets of views of university buildings in Cambridge.
