QUACK

Original Polish 26 1/4 inch x 36 3/4 inch Poster for the 1982 Jerzy Hoffman Polish Drama QUACK (ZNACHOR), based on the novel by Tadeusz Dolega-Mostowicz and starring Jerzy Binczycki, Anna Dymna, Tomasz Stockinger, Bernard Ladysz and Janina Boronska.

Abandoned by his wife and daughter, a famous surgeon starts drinking, hurts his head and loses his memory. His medical knowledge gradually resurfaces and he becomes a village healer, not remembering who he is.

Poster art by Franciszek Starowieyski (1930 – 2009).

Franciszek Starowieyski was a painter, illustrator, printmaker, poster artist, theatre and TV set designer dividing his time between the ateliers of Warsaw and Paris, making some 300 posters and earning the name of one of the finest representatives of the Polish school of posters.

The poster is very good unfolded (rolled) condition.
