RACE FOR LIFE

Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1956 Christian-Jaque Drama RACE FOR LIFE (SI TOUS LES GARS DU MONDE), based on the novel by Christian-Jaque & Henri-Georges Clouzot and starring André Valmy, Jean Gaven, Marc Cassot, Georges Poujouly, Hélène Perdrière, Jean-Louis Trintignant and Andrex.

A French fishing trawler crew in the North Sea becomes incapacitated after eating contaminated food while in the middle of a storm. The story follows the efforts of an international collection of amateur radio operators to deliver an antidote.

The film won a BAFTA Award in 1957, a Crystal Globe award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 1956, and a Best Screenplay-Foreign Film award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in 1956, as well as a Golden Laurel winner at the Edinburgh Film Festival.

Poster art by Rene Ferracci (1927 -1982). A French artistic director and poster designer. He is, with Clément Hurel, Boris Grinsson, Michel Landi and Jean Mascii, one of the most prolific creators of cinema posters in France in the second half of the 20th century.

The poster is in very good folded condition with a small piece out of the bottom edge and a quarter inch hole and other pinholes in each corner.
