Original British 40 inch x 60 inch 2-Sheet Poster for the 1937 Andrew Marton Romantic Comedy SCHOOL FOR HUSBANDS, based on the play by Frederick Jackson and starring Rex Harrison, Diana Churchill, Henry Kendall, June Clyde, Romney Brent, Roxie Russell, Phil Thomas, Richard Goolden, Judith Gick, Joan Kemp-Welch and Clive Baxter.

Two married men who neglect their wives become concerned when they begin spending time with Leonard Drummond (Harrison), a handsome and charming novelist with a notorious reputation as a womaniser. They hatch a plan to see if their wives are conducting affairs which involves pretending to go to Paris then returning unexpectedly. However complications ensue when their car breaks down on the way back from Newhaven. The long night that follows really becomes a test of the fidelity and love of their wives.

The poster is in very good condition with one horizontal and 3 vertical folds. The poster, printed by W.E. Berry of Bradford, was unused and the reverse was later used by Taylors Printers of Wombwell, Yorkshire for a Robinson Crusoe pantomime poster. This is the lower two thirds of a 3-Sheet poster. The upper third would have shown the rest of the title and the stars’ names.
