Archive of 50 original 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Portraits and Stills for the 1950 Sidney Salkow Adventure SHADOW OF THE EAGLE, based on the story “Tarakanova” by Jacques Companéez and starring Richard Greene, Valentina Cortese, Greta Gynt, Binnie Barnes, Charles Goldner, Hugh French, Walter Rilla and Dino Galvani.
The collection includes stills with director Sidney Salkow, associate producer Robert Garrett, producer Anthony Havelock-Allan, lighting cameraman Erwin Hillier, Tests/Standby Focus Puller Stuart Shrimpton, hair stylist Renata, hairdressing expert Doreen Hart, continuity girl Elaine Schreyeck and the Imperial Russian frigate “Patria”
Count Orlof, one of Catherine of Russia’s many overnight favourites, travels to Venice on her behalf to abduct Elizabeth Tarakanova who has been laying claim to the throne from the Crimea. Once there, he finds the local charms of the Princess hard to resist.
