Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1987 Michael Cimino Crime Drama THE SICILIAN, based on the novel by Mario Puzo and starring Christopher Lambert, Terence Stamp, Joss Ackland, John Turturro, Barbara Sukowa and Ray McAnally.

Egocentric bandit Salvatore Guiliano fights the Church, the Mafia, and the landed gentry while leading a populist movement for Sicilian independence.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D’Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.

The poster is in very good folded condition with pieces of clear tape along the top edge.
