The film is set in a small city in the Balkans, where the discovery of oil leads to a major boom.
Gustav Fröhlich (1902 – 1987) was an actor and director. A former journalist and editor, he turned to stage and screen acting in the mid-1920s playing leads in scores of German films, notably Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”.
