Original French 12 1/4 inch x 8 3/4 inch 8 Page Illustrated Pressbook for the 1926 Baldassarre Negroni Italian Drama THE TRAGIC HOUR (BEATRICE CENCI) starring Maria Jacobini, Raimondo Van Riel, Franz Sala, Gino Talamo, Ugo Gracci and Cellio Bucchi .
It is one of several films portraying the story of the sixteenth century Italian noblewoman Beatrice Cenci, a young Roman noblewoman who murdered her abusive father, Count Francesco Cenci. The subsequent, lurid murder trial in Rome gave rise to an enduring legend about her. She was condemned and beheaded for the crime in 1599.
Cover art by Arnaldo Caroli. Caroli was an Italian painter, born in Turin in 1892. He was also a designer and book illustrator.
The pressbook is in good to very good condition with some separation along the spine.
