Original French 31 inch x 47 inch Poster for the 1957 Max Neufeld Austrian Drama THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE (DER SCHONSTE TAG MEINES LEBENS) starring Michael Ande, Joseph Egger, Paul Hörbiger, Ellinor Jensen, Paul Bösiger, Thomas Hörbiger, Richard Eybner and the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
The film centres around a little Hungarian boy named Toni (Ande). He befriends old Herr Blümel (Eggar) when he arrives in Austria with a boatload of other Hungarian refugees. Herr Blümel and Toni become instant friends and Toni comes to live with him in his house by the river. One Sunday, while attending church, Toni sees the Vienna choir boys singing and desires to become a “Sängerknabe”, too. So they go to Vienna and the boy gets the privilege of being admitted to the choir because he has a fine singing voice.
