Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1978 Robert Moore Comedy Detective Thriller THE CHEAP DETECTIVE starring Peter Falk, Ann-Margret, Sid Caesar, John Houseman, Eileen Brennan, Stockard Channing, James Coco, Dom DeLuise, Louise Fletcher, John Houseman and Madeline Kahn.
Spoofing the entire 1940s detective genre, and his own performances as a bumbling private detective, Peter Falk plays Lou Pekinpaugh, a San Francisco private detective accused of murdering his partner at the instigation of his mistress, the partner’s wife, Georgia Merkle.
Poster art by Rene Ferracci (1927 -1982). A French artistic director and poster designer. He is, with Clément Hurel, Boris Grinsson, Michel Landi and Jean Mascii, one of the most prolific creators of cinema posters in France in the second half of the 20th century.
