DEAD END

Original 1944 Re-Release British 17 inch x 11 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement for the 1937 William Wyler Crime Drama DEAD END, based on the play by Sidney Kingsley, with a screenplay by Lillian Hellman and starring Sylvia Sidney, Joel McCrea, Humphrey Bogart, Wendy Barrie, Marjorie Main, The Dead End Kids (Billy Hallop, Huntz Hall, Bobby Jordan, Leo Gorcey, Gabriel Dell, Bernard Punsly), Claire Trevor, Allen Jenkins and Ward Bond.

The lives of a young man and woman, an infamous gangster and a group of street kids converge one day in a volatile New York City slum.

Trade advertisements are colourful posters aimed at cinema managers, which were either slipped in, or part of, the weekly film trade journals which were available to them by subscription but were not sold to the general public. Most were designed to be pulled out, and some were attached by staples. Most have the date in tiny letters in one of the top corners.

The Advertisement is in good to very good condition with one vertical centre fold and a diagonal crease in the right half of the ad.
